1. Principality of Monte Cristo, New South Wales, Australia –

The historic Monte Cristo Principality is located in the Zuni region of New South Wales in Australia. This principality has been included in Australia's most haunted and scary places. The reason for this is the many tragic events that happened here since its construction in the year 1885. After construction, the ownership of Monte Cristo remained with the Crevale family and this family lived here until the year 1948. During this many untoward incidents happened here, out of which many had to lose their lives. There are many incidents like the tragic death of a child after falling from the stairs, the death of a maid after falling from the balcony of the house and the unnatural death of a boy working in the stables due to burning due to fire, which made this place considered as wretched.
It is also said that the man who guarded the Principality of Monte Cristo had a son, whose name was Harold. He was mad and turned violent at times. That's why he was tied up with an iron chain and kept locked in his house for about 40 years. One day people saw that he was lying with the dead body of his dead mother. After this incident, he was sent to the insane asylum, where he died a few days later.
Eventually, the Crewley family left the place in the year 1948, distracted by the continuing untoward and scary events. Even after the departure of this family, the series of unnatural deaths happening here did not stop. After the Crewley family left, some people together bought Monte Cristo to rent it out and they all started living in the house built for the caretakers. But within a few days, one of them was murdered there. After this murder, the remaining people left that place and since then Monte Cristo has been lying deserted.

2. Changi Hospital Singapore –

A hospital was built in the year 1930 in Changi village on the side of Northvan Road in Singapore. This hospital was named Changi Hospital after the name of the village. For the first several years, this hospital functioned like a normal hospital. But after the occupation of this area by Japan during the Second World War, it was converted into a military hospital. Being on the side of the highway, it was convenient to bring soldiers injured in the war here. Then thousands of wounded Japanese soldiers started being brought here during the war. However, due to lack of doctors, nurses and other facilities, most of the seriously injured soldiers started dying and the deaths started increasing day by day. Due to the large number of deaths, the hospital system collapsed and the hospital came under the grip of a terrible disease.
Now along with the soldiers, doctors, nurses and other employees started becoming victims of this disease spread in the hospital. What was then, the hospital became a haven for wandering souls. By the end of World War I, this hospital also started getting deserted and people around started shying away from going there. Eventually the hospital turned into ruins. Neighbors say that from that time till today the wandering souls of those soldiers, doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel are clearly felt in the ruined hospital premises. As long as the hospital was in operation, many stories of untoward incidents that happened during that time are still discussed there. Even today, many people claim to see old people, nurses, watchmen, doctors, soldiers etc. in the ruins of the hospital.

The Fort of Good Hope, located in Cape Town, South Africa, was built by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th century. It is considered to be the oldest colonial period building in South Africa. Mainly the Dutch built this fort as a base for the supply of logistics and other goods to the ships passing through the sea route of the Cape.

The sequence of seeing him went on for several weeks. Sometimes he was seen jumping on the walls of the fort, and sometimes jumping from one tower of the fort to another. He was seen for a few days during that time, but after that no one claimed to have seen him till the year 1947. After that till date people have been claiming to see him occasionally.
Those who claim to be haunted of this fort narrate another story related to the fort. In the 17th century, there was a governor of Good Hope, whose name was Peter Gisbert. He died under suspicious circumstances on 23 April 1728. On the day he died, he found seven soldiers guilty of revolting in the army and sentenced them to death. This cave is built under the railway line connecting Toronto and New York near Niagara Falls in Canada. It is forbidden to light a fire in or around the cave here. The reason for this is two such accidents known to have happened here due to fire, due to which the souls of the people tremble even today.
It will be called a coincidence that the victims of both the accidents caused by the fire were girls. The first incident is said to have caught fire once in a farm house located near the south entrance of the cave. How the fire started, it remained a mystery, but a girl living in the farm house came in the grip of this terrible fire. The girl, surrounded by flames, ran out of the farmhouse for help and jumped into the cave hoping for water. Unfortunately the cave was dry at that time. Burning with fire, she continued to suffer on the dry ground of the cave and she died there. Hearing his cries, many people living around gathered there, but no one came forward to help. The surrounding environment resonated with the girl's scream, but no one came there because of fear. People understood that it was the scream of the girl, who had earlier died a painful death due to fire. When people reached there the next morning, everyone found a burnt girl in the cave. After this incident, this part of the cave also became involved in scary places and people still shy away from going here.
People living around this cave say that even today if someone passes by at night, he smells of burning body along with crying and sobbing from inside the cave. The ruined ancient Bhangarh princely state is situated on the Delhi-Jaipur highway in Rajasthan. It is said about here that whoever goes here in the night does not come back.
There is a story attached to the dreadful past of Bhangarh. This story is of the princess Ratnavati of Bhangarh and Sindhu Sevada, a tantrik of the same princely state. It is said that Sindhu Sevada used to love Princess Ratnavati unilaterally. One day he was about to do black magic with perfume to hypnotize the princess at the perfume shop in the market that the princess got to know about it. Ratnavati angrily slammed that perfume bottle on a big stone lying there and broke it. When the bottle exploded, the perfume was scattered on the stone. On the other hand, Sindhu Sevada was terrified on seeing this fierce form of the princess and, losing her balance, started running from there. Surprisingly, the stone also started running after the tantrik, on which the perfume was scattered. While running after the tantrik, that stone crushed the tantrik and he died.
Before dying, the tantrik cursed that soon all the people living here will be killed and their souls will wander here for a long time. The tantrik's words proved to be true. Since then Bhangarh has not been populated till date and it has become a part of the scary and ghostly world. It is said that the screams of that massacre are heard there even today. 8. Poveglia Island, Italy

In Italy, between Venice and Lido lies a secluded island, known as Poveglia. In Italy, people start trembling just by taking the name of this island. The reason for this has been its dreadful history. It is believed that humans arrived on this island in 421 AD. But by the 14th century, this island became deserted. There is no direct evidence available as to what was the reason for the people to flee from here. But in the same century, when the bubonic plague wreaked havoc in Europe, people affected by this disease in Venice were caught and released on the island of Poveglia. Then people affected by the plague started dying here. These infected corpses were gathered together here and burnt. The same was done once again in the year 1630, when a dreadful scene of a disease called black fever was born in Venice.
After the above events, the island of Poveglia became untouchable for the people of Venice. Years later, during 1800 AD, the government of Venice had built a madhouse here. But people say that it was not a madhouse but a hospital for research on humans. However, it is said that during the year 1930, a doctor committed suicide by jumping from the clock tower built there. In later years the island of Poveglia was converted into an old age home. But due to the untoward incidents happening here, the Italian government closed the old age home in the year 1975 and since then the island has been deserted.
Today the people living on the islands around this island shy away from going around what is on the island of Poveglia. Fishermen also stay away from this island. People believe that this island is ruled by the souls of the sick and they are all dreadful. The sounds of screaming and shouting also keep coming from the island. Even during the day, there is a claim of seeing black shadows flying in the sky. The sailors of the ship that passes around the island during the night have also claimed to have seen light and a bunch of people on the island.
