In 1974 Stephen Hawking told the world about his most important discovery black hole theory. He said that black holes spread heat due to quantum effects. Five years later, he became Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University. This was the same post to which the great scientist Albert Einstein was once appointed.

rare disease like ALS

Hawking was diagnosed with a serious disease called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the age of 21. Due to this disease, his body gradually stopped working. Hawking had to face difficulties in climbing the stairs when he was studying in the final year of Oxford. Gradually these problems increased so much that his bidding started faltering. Doctors had told Hawking at that time that he would not be able to live more than 2 years, but Hawking continued his research by proving this claim wrong.
